About This Release

Public Service Broadcasting’s “The South Atlantic” channels the group’s signature archival-sample collage approach into a meditation on maritime history and geopolitical tension. Built from declassified recordings, naval broadcasts, and period documentation, the project layers these fragments over motorik rhythms and analogue synthesizers—a sound that owes as much to krautrock as it does to documentary filmmaking. The result is neither pure electronic music nor pure sound art, but something closer to a conceptual history lesson scored by electronic minimalists.
