About This Release

Purple Hearts' debut on Razor Records captures the brittle energy of late-70s new wave filtered through power pop hooks and mod sensibilities. Jangly guitars collide with nervous rhythms and yelped vocals, the whole thing crackling with the urgency of kids who’d absorbed the Sex Pistols but wanted melodies. A minor-label gem that proved punk’s descendants didn’t need to choose between attitude and catchiness.
