Deus Arrakis

Klaus Schulze’s Deus Arrakis finds the German synthesist channeling the vast, desolate atmospheres of Frank Herbert’s desert planet through modular synth drones and processed field recordings. Released on SPV Recordings, the album layers Schulze’s signature pad work with granular textures and occasional rhythmic pulses, creating immersive soundscapes that feel simultaneously cinematic and abstract. This is ambient techno at its most meditative—less concerned with dancefloor utility than with sustained, hypnotic immersion.
