In the wake of the growing popularity of Reggae music in Jamaica, Federal Records launched the Wild Flower subsidiary in 1974 under the authority of and (Sons of , the founder of Federal). Wild Flower specialized in releasing hit songs as well as deeper, more rootsier content than that which was expected of the main Federal imprint.
