1960s-1970s soul label from New York City. A subsidiary of Fania Records. Established in 1968 to specialize in Soul and R&B music, specifically in light of the success of their breakout act, Joe Bataan. The Uptite imprint was strictly used for single releases only. Any subsequent album releases were released straight on the Fania label proper. Uptite was discontinued after a two-year run.
