UK sub-label of Cube Records Ltd., established in 1976 by independent music publisher David Platz. Electric Records label manager was Jeremy Thomas (4), who wrote a book in 2006, "Taking Leave," about his time with the label and Platz — though using pseudonyms. Launching with Marsha Hunt, her Electric album remains unreleased after poor sales for her singles. Chart success came shortly after with Gordon Giltrap and Quantum Jump. In 1979, Electric Records was incorporated into Cube Records/Fly Records, and is currently owned by Simon Platz. Label Code: LC 4541
