Telarc was one of the first record labels to record digital material and released the first classical digital recording. They started releasing on CD as soon as it was possible, in 1983. In 1996, Telarc merged with another independent label, . In late 2005 both Telarc and Heads Up were bought by . Distributed by from its startup in 1978 until February 1983. Since Audio-Technica was the exclusive U.S. distributor, if the box is empty or a different distributor is present, the release is after February 1983. Telarc used Teldec pressing plants for its vinyl pressings in the late 1970s until early 1980s. Even though they are pressed in Germany, the release country should be US.
