About
Album series from the Disneyland label. Please note that the "ST" prefix stands for "Storyteller" and not stereo - unless otherwise noted, all Storyteller releases are in mono. Storyteller can be used on any Disneyland label record that has an "ST" prefix, or any repress of an "ST" album with the prefix dropped. For example, "Peter And The Wolf / The Sorcerer's Apprentice" was originally issued with the catalog number "ST-3926". It was later repressed/reissued with the catalog number "3926", dropping the "ST" prefix — both should be included in the Storyteller series. Rarely, some Storytellers were issued in Stereo - these issues will have a "STER" prefix, but can still be added to the series if there's a "ST" prefix counterpart. In 1973 and later, the ST prefix was dropped but the series was still being issued - catalog numbers beginning this year will be in the 3900 or 3800 number block. For any non-record formats, Storyteller can be used where it is explicitly mentioned. Releases were often in gatefold sleeves and included a booklet attached inside, but not every number block included a booklet (for example, the ST-1900 series of catalog numbers did not have a gatefold or booklet). Please note that many "ST" prefix albums were reissued as "DQ" prefix albums - these "DQ" prefix reissues should not be included in the Storyteller series. Some sub-series existed, such as Magic Mirror with special covers or Disneyrama with pop up figures in the gatefold. The Storyteller series started in 1957 with the release of [r=11907578], a 10" LP. Afterwards, all issues were regular sized LPs and later reissued in other formats. Later LP represses often dropped the "ST" prefix and only included the number. Most records in the series were initially issued on purple labels. May appear as "Disneyland Storyteller"; "Walt Disney Storyteller"; "Disney Storyteller". Logos such as "A Record And A Book" often appear on covers as well.
