About
New York-based label formed by record producer/songwriter Jeff Barry in 1967. Pressed and distributed in the US by Dot Records. After nearly five years of limited success (the label's two biggest-selling acts were Andy Kim and Robin McNamara), Barry closed down the label in 1971 in order to move to Los Angeles, and its catalog was folded into Famous Music's Dot/Paramount Records catalog. NOTE: Canadian releases of Steed material appeared on the parent Dot label.
