About

Co-founded by Charles Koppelman, Select Records head Martin Bandier and Stephen Swid who purchased the music publishing unit of CBS Records in 1986. The trio founded as a production company in 1989 prior to selling it to EMI and launching the Capitol Records-distributed label. It was consolidated with Chrysalis and EMI Records USA to create EMI Record Group USA in 1994. The label's artists included Vanilla Ice, Jon Secada, Wilson Phillips, Blur, Technotronic, Billy Dean, Lonnie Gordon, Boy George, Jesus Jones, Selena and actress Milla Jovovich.
