About
RPM Records was founded by brand owner and label manager Mark Stratford in 1991. Run by Cherry Red Records Ltd. since 1999. The main label specialises in reissues from the 1960s to mid 1970s, principally from UK music archives. Sub label Shout! Records (in partnership with Solar Radio DJ Clive Richardson), which started as series, covers classic soul/R&B from the U.S., with RPM International (in partnership with Mojo and Arts Desk music journalist Kieron Tyler) focussing on non-UK/non-U.S. originated recordings, across the same period. The RPM Records group is produced and managed by Another Planet Music. Also appears as RPM. For company roles, see RPM (16).
