Also appears as "Era" only, "Era Record", "Era Records, Inc." The Era label was founded in Los Angeles in 1955 by (born 05.05.1925), a lyricist of the pre-rock school, and his cousin, Lew Bedell. Newman studied at UCLA, later working for Mercury and Decca as a salesman, before starting Era Records. The partnership also formed Records in Hollywood in 1958 as a companion to their Era label.
