1970s-1980s soul label from Chicago, Illinois, launched by producer and former Brunswick Records executive Carl Davis in 1976. Originally pressed and distributed by United Artists Records, it switched distribution to 20th Century Fox Records in 1978. It had success with Gene Chandler, The Dells and The Chi-Lites during the 20th Century Fox period (1978-81). After the deal ended, Chi-Sound used independent distribution and had sporadic releases until at least 1990. Davis relaunched the label in 2007. Do not confuse with the independent hip-hop label Chi-Sound Entertainment.
