Capitol Records, LLC is the current legal name of Capitol Records label, used since 2007 after Capitol Records, Inc. changed its legal form to limited liability company. This change was made after its owner, EMI Group Plc, was acquired by Terra Firma Capital Partners. This form was maintained after Capitol Records was sold to Universal Music Group in 2012.
