Garden Wall

Garden Wall, emerging from Surrey, was a pivotal group that laid the groundwork for the future of progressive rock, marking an early chapter in a journey that would eventually lead to the formation of the iconic band Genesis in 1967. Initially coming together around May 1965 at Charterhouse School, the ensemble showcased the talents of Peter Gabriel on vocals, Tony Banks on keyboards, and Chris Stewart handling the drums. Although their direct contributions to electronic and dance music might not be explicit, their experimental approach and the eventual evolution into Genesis played a significant role in the progressive rock genre, influencing countless artists and bands within the electronic music spectrum.
