SMP (Sounds of Mass Production) is an American industrial-rock project founded in Seattle in 1992 by Jason Bazinet and Sean Ivy. Originally operating under the name Synthesia Murder Program, the group established itself within the industrial music scene, with Bazinet serving as the primary creative force and sole consistent member throughout the project's evolution.
The project is characterized by its fusion of industrial and rock elements, blending synthesizer-driven soundscapes with aggressive guitar work. Despite significant lineup changes over the decades, SMP has maintained a distinctive approach to electronic-rock composition, contributing to Seattle's diverse electronic music landscape.
