About

# Talking Heads

Formed in New York City in 1975, Talking Heads revolutionized new wave and post-punk by fusing punk energy with funk rhythms, art rock sophistication, and world music influences. Led by vocalist-guitarist David Byrne alongside drummer Chris Frantz, bassist Tina Weymouth, and guitarist-keyboardist Jerry Harrison, the group crafted an unmistakably angular yet groove-driven sound that became foundational to electronic and dance music evolution.

Throughout the late '70s and '80s, Talking Heads released landmark albums including *Remain in Light* (1980) and *Speaking in Tongues* (1983), collaborating with producer Brian Eno to explore polyrhythmic structures and studio experimentation. Their innovative approach to rhythm programming, synth integration, and rhythmic minimalism influenced generations of electronic producers, while tracks like "Psycho Killer" and "Once in a Lifetime" remain essential touchstones in post-punk and dance music history.
