About

The Souther, Hillman, Furay Band, an ensemble not traditionally associated with electronic or dance music, carved a niche in the American country rock genre during the 1970s. Comprised of Richie Furay of Buffalo Springfield and Poco fame, Chris Hillman from The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Manassas, and J.D. Souther of Longbranch Pennywhistle, this supergroup brought together a unique blend of vocal harmonies and instrumental prowess. Throughout their brief but impactful career, they released two albums that showcased their ability to meld country influences with rock elements, creating a sound that, while not electronic, contributed to the diverse tapestry of American music during a pivotal era. Their collaboration, although short-lived, remains a testament to the fusion of genres and the exploration of musical boundaries.
