About

# James Welsh

James Welsh is an electronic musician and producer working across experimental and post-punk territories. As a member of the experimental punk/electronic group The Rise, he handles electronic production duties, blending his early influences in blues and bluegrass with contemporary electronic textures. His production work extends to high-profile remixes for artists including Rob Zombie, Depeche Mode, and Britney Spears.

Operating under the moniker Ocelot, Welsh signed to Mark Jones' Wall Of Sound label, establishing himself on the festival circuit with appearances at Creamfields and international venues. His solo work showcases a more introspective approach to production—his debut 'Air Valley' on Losing Suki received support from respected tastemakers including Gilles Peterson, Ben Westbeech, and Jimpster. With forthcoming releases on Wolf Music and Join The Dots, Welsh continues to develop his distinctive sound at the intersection of electronic innovation and post-punk sensibilities.
