German guitarist who emerged from the Hannover krautrock scene, Klaus Walz is known for his work as second guitarist in a pioneering electronic rock ensemble. He joined the band in 1971 during their relocation to Hannover, contributing to their sound from their debut album through 1977, before returning for a final stint from 1981 to 1982.
Following a period away from music, Walz resumed his career in 1986, joining another influential electronic outfit where he remained an active member. He assumed a leadership role within the band following the passing of a key bandmate in 2007, continuing to represent the legacy of Germany's innovative electronic music heritage.
