About

# The Tiller Boys

The Tiller Boys were a Manchester-based group operating during the late 1970s post-punk era. Active from 1978 to 1979, they emerged within the same vibrant scene that produced Joy Division, frequently appearing as support acts during that period. Their association with Factory Records—one of the era's most influential independent labels—underscores their significance in Manchester's evolving electronic and post-punk landscape.

Though their time together was brief, The Tiller Boys left a mark through their recorded output. After the group disbanded, their unreleased Factory single finally saw light on New Hormones, preserving a snapshot of the Manchester underground sound during a pivotal moment in electronic music history.
