Noden emerged in 1986 as an ambient electronic project born from a unique commission: Ed Wynne, the creative force behind progressive rock legends Ozric Tentacles, was invited to craft an ambient set for the Crypt’s quiet room in London. This request sparked a parallel venture that allowed Wynne to explore electronic soundscapes beyond his work with Ozric Tentacles.

The project showcases Wynne’s ability to translate his psychedelic sensibilities into immersive ambient and electronic territories, creating atmospheric compositions that complement both introspective listening and experimental club environments. Noden represents an important facet of Wynne’s artistic output, demonstrating his versatility across electronic music’s meditative and exploratory spectrum.
