# Balts Nill

Swiss multi-instrumentalist and percussionist Balts Nill has carved a distinctive path through experimental and improvisational music. As cofounder of Stiller Has alongside Andreas Flückiger in 1989, Nill helped establish a unique sonic identity blending percussion-driven arrangements with innovative instrumental textures. His work with the ensemble earned critical recognition, including the prestigious Salzburger Stier award in 1995 and the Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis in 1996.

Since 2006, Nill has focused on solo performances and collaborative improvisational projects, exploring the boundaries of live percussion and experimental sound design. His work continues to emphasize spontaneous composition and instrumental interplay, contributing to Switzerland's vibrant experimental music scene.
