Nina Walsh is a multifaceted composer, vocalist, producer, and engineer who has been instrumental in shaping British electronic and dance music since the early 1990s. Her career gained momentum with her vocal performance on Primal Scream's "Original Sin," remixed by Andrew Weatherall, leading to a pivotal creative partnership. Together, Walsh and Weatherall established two influential electronic labels: Sabres of Paradise and Sabrettes, both key outlets for experimental dance music during the era.
Beyond her label work, Walsh has collaborated with electronic luminaries including Alex Patterson of The Orb, co-writing and performing on tracks like "Ghost Dancing" and "Plum Island" from the album *Cydonia*. The pair also record together as Rootmasters, blending ambient and electronic textures. Walsh's solo work, including the album *Bright Lights & Filthy Nights* on Malicious Damage Records, showcases her distinctive approach to electronic composition and production.
More recently, Walsh has reunited with Weatherall to co-write and produce the soundtrack for *Unreal City*, while continuing her work as an engineer for forward-thinking artists including Warpaint and Fuck Buttons, further cementing her role as a respected figure in contemporary electronic music production.
